A woman has been arrested and charged with murder in relation to the death of a Taranaki man.
Rex Karaitiana, 50, from Eltham, was taken to Taranaki Base Hospital yesterday with suspected stab wounds but died earlier today.
A 46-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder.
She has been remanded in custody and has interim name suppression.
Police are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the inquiry.
However, detectives are appealing for further information to assist their investigation.
They would like to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Eltham area on Wednesday evening and/or Thursday morning.
Any sightings of a green, 1999 Ford Laser, 5-door hatchback in the Eltham Kaponga area are also of interest.
