Irreplaceable holiday photos were among five-thousand dollars worth of property stolen from a group of European tourists in Christchurch last night.
Three tourists from Germany, France and Italy parked their rental van on Byron Street in Sydenham at about seven o'clock last night before walking into central Christchurch for dinner.
When they returned to their van an hour and a half later, they found a side window had been smashed and many of their possessions had been stolen.
Police sid the offenders appear to have lifted three backpacks and two other packs, which contained the victims' hard drives and cameras, with photos and videos of their ten-month holiday.
They're asking for anyone who was in the Byron Street area on Friday night and saw something to call Christchurch police or Crimestoppers.
