Police are close to determining whether criminal charges will be laid over the fatal collapse of four buildings during Canterbury's February 22nd earthquake.
175 of the 185 people who lost their lives in the 2011 quake died in building collapses.
The Star reports police have wrapped up their investigation into the collapse of the CTV building, Southern Ink tattoo, St Christopher's Book Market in Riccarton and the Ballanytnes car park building on Lichfield Street.
Detective Darryl Sweeney said the investigation is being reviewed and will then be sent to the Crown Solicitor in the next month.
The Crown Solicitor will determine what, if any, charges will be laid.
