Canterbury police are calling for information from the public, following an attempted armed robbery of a Riccarton dairy last night.
The man tried to enter the Division Street Dairy in Riccarton by pulling and pushing an unlocked sliding door.
After failing to gain entry the man left on foot south on Division Street towards Blenheim Road.
Police began a search of the area but were unable to locate the offender who's described as 170 cm tall of medium build, with a grey hoodie and dark blue jeans.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously around Division Street between 7 and 8pm yesterday.
