Police have caught up with a man suspected of being behind a dramatic early morning ram-raid in Northland, that's mangled a motorcycle dealership.
Three stores in central Dargaville were broken into after 4am.
A vehicle was taken from the first store, and then used to break into the others.
Police say they found a man on Parore Street about 4.30am and started a pursuit.
A police car was badly damaged when it was rammed - and police called off the pursuit.
The driver of the stolen vehicle took off on foot, before taking another vehicle - a second pursuit was started and also abandoned.
Police later found him on farmland and arrested him.
They'll be examining the scenes of the burglaries today and haven't yet laid charges.
