A gun-toting male has robbed a Christchurch KFC, demanding money before fleeing in a getaway car.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the armed robbery at KFC Riccarton, about 8.07pm yesterday.
A police statement said the man entered the store brandishing a firearm and demanding money from employees.
He then fled the premises to a black getaway car parked on Picton Ave.
Police said the getaway car, driven by another male, was seen turning into Nelson St, towards Riccarton Mall.
They are asking for witnesses or any "outstanding customers" to contact police on 03 363 7400.
